The Sunshine Coast Community Foundation (SCCF) is a sub-fund of Queensland Community Foundation.
The Foundation is a trust set up to allow people and organisations to donate money to charities or a community cause within their region on a perpetual basis.
The SCCF has a local Advisory Board which meets periodically to promote the Foundation, consider grants to local charities and organisations and recommend to the Public Trustee through QCF the recipients of those grants.
Investment of Funds
Your original donation is invested in perpetuity and therefore never spent. The income it earns is directed to those local charities and organisations approved by the Public Trustee following recommendations of the local Board of Advice.
Thus, the money you give today to the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation will keep on giving, contributing to community life on the Sunshine Coast, long into the future.
Different ways to donate
You can donate money or assets specifically to the Trustee of QCF for the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation, either during your lifetime (when the donation will be tax deductible) or in your will. Note however that income earned on invested funds may be distributed only to those organisations which have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.
The Sunshine Coast Community Foundation as a regional fund of Queensland Community Foundation offers two different ways to donate:
- You can donate or leave money or assets specifically to the Trustee of QCF for the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation. Money will be used to meet pressing and emerging needs in the Sunshine Coast region, based on the recommendations of the local Advisory Board.
- Leave money to the Trustee of QCF for a charity that is already established within Queensland Community Foundation. This will ensure the charity’s good work continues in the future. A list of these charities is available on the website on the sub-funds page
To obtain appropriate wording to be included in your will, ask your solicitor or accountant to contact the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation, or contact your local Public Trust Office.
How to make a Donation
Donations to the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation can be made by cheque payable to: QCF / Sunshine Coast Community Foundation. All donations are tax deductible.
