The Public Trustee is an independent statutory authority that reports to the Queensland Parliament through Queensland's Attorney-General and Minister for Industrial Relations. The Public Trustee provides professional, accessible and reliable trustee financial and related services to Queenslanders.
Operating as a corporation sole, The Public Trustee of Queensland is Trustee of Queensland Community Foundation.This means that The Public Trustee of Queensland has financial responsibility for the Foundation.
The Public Trustee of Queensland is assisted in this role by the Queensland Community Foundation Board of Governors, QCF Management Co. Ltd Board of Directors and regional community foundation advisory boards.
The Trustee is also Public Trustee of Queensland and is responsible for the investment of QCF funds. These funds are invested through Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC), which manages the funds on behalf of the Trustee.
The Public Trustee has 16 offices located across Queensland and a network of over 80 outreach service centres. The Public Trustee has been serving Queensland since 1916 and is the largest provider of Trustee services in the State. The Public Trustee's services include free Will making, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Executor Services and Deceased Estate Administration.
Since QCF's inception, the Public Trustee through it's free Will making service has enabled Queenslanders to bequest over $350M to support worthy charities and community organisations across the State. These bequests are permanently invested to ensure an income stream that will benefit the Queensland community forever.
