Queensland Law Society's Charity of Choice June 2008 to May 2009

Queensland Law Society held a gala dinner on Friday 6 June 2008 to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the incorporation of the Queensland Law Society. It was at this function that the President of the Law Society Megan Mahon, announced that Queensland Community Foundation had been chosen as the Law Society's Charity of Choice for the period June 2008 to May 2009.

The Foundation's Chair, Dr John de Groot, who has been advocating the benefits QCF offers the Queensland community to the Law Society for a number of months, expressed his delight at this announcement. "It will be a wonderful opportunity to provide an added dimension for QCF to gain exposure to the legal profession and ultimately benefit the charities and not-for-profit organisations that have sub funds with us," he said.

Being the QLS Charity of Choice provides some significant benefits including a listing on the QLS website, promotion through QLS Update, promotion through Proctor and inclusion of QCF promotional flyers and other material at QLS conferences and events. It is hoped that this multi-layered strategic approach will maximise the outreach of QCF to some 7,500 QLS members.

It is our sincere hope that this alliance with the QLS propels QCF to the forefront of will-writers and estate planners within the legal profession state-wide.
