The Public Trustee of Queensland

The sole Trustee of the Queensland Community Foundation is The Public Trustee of Queensland. This means that the Public Trustee has the ultimate financial responsibility relating to the Queensland Community Foundation. The advisory boards of regional community foundations and the QCF Board of Governors provide the Public Trustee with expert advice on a voluntary basis.

The Public Trustee of Queensland is a State Government agency that has helped Queenslanders since 1915. It has vast experience in the safe and responsible management of trusts.

The Public Trustee of Queensland is responsible for the investment of the funds which are invested in the Public Trustee Investment Funds. These are a range of managed investment funds that are available to the public. The investment manager is the Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC).

Administrative support is provided to the Queensland Community Foundation as part of the Public Trustee's community service obligation. Another excellent means of support provided by the Public Trustee is its free will writing service. The Public Trustee makes more that 20,000 wills each year. Where appropriate, clients are informed of the QCF and provided with a brochure that includes a list of the existing named funds.

More than $30 million in wills have been written by the Public Trustee to benefit Queensland causes and charities through the Queensland Community Foundation. Considering that the bequests, when realised, will be permanently invested, the income stream will be of great benefit to the Queensland community - forever.
